Beluga Coal to Liquids Plant

AIDEA is the project lead partnering with Anchorage-based Alaska Natural Resources To Liquids Company.  ANRTL proposes to build a mine mouth or tide water 70,000 - 80,000 barrel per day coal to liquids plant (CTL) utilizing 50,000 tons per day of coal on the western shores of Alaska’s Cook Inlet adjacent to the Beluga coal field. The CTL plant will use proven gasification and Fischer-Tropsch (F-T) technology to convert billions of tons of Beluga area coal reserves into billions barrels of F-T fuels.

Status:             Applicants moving forward, plans hinge on Chuitna coal mine permits/operations.

Applicant:       Alaska Natural Resources to Liquids (see www.aidea.org/PDF%20files/BelugaCTLoverview9-20-06.pdf ), Alaska Industrial Development & Export Authority.
