“Shaping Our Future” Event

Local Youth & Teens Combine Art & Action to Address Climate Change

Art in Action - A human mosaic design by Mavis Muller on Bishops Beach in Homer, Alaska. The “Shaping Our Future” event brought together local youth, teens and families to create a human mosaic on the beach, and aerial images are being used to send a message to decisionmakers in the Congress and at the United Nation’s Climate Change Summit to take strong action on climate change and coal to protect Alaskan salmon and their environment. The event was sponsored by Mavis Muller, Cook Inletkeeper, Alaska Marine Conservation Council, Sustainable Homer, Kachemak Bay Conservation Society, and Alaska Youth for Environmental Action. Saturday, September 26, 2009.
